“Good Buy! Cruel World”: Woke Retail Therapy & the Art of Mike Leavitt

The largest show of Mike’s career will be at the Vashon Center for the Arts in November 2025. On display will be new “Trash Talking” works, “Real Life” action figures, large figurative sculptures and much more in the realm of consumer satire. Descending on the shopping season is this one-person bizarre by a local sculptor - aka KING-5 TV’s “Vashon Man” - with nearly 200 hand-crafted pieces available.

More square footage of exhibition space has never been devoted to Mike’s work. It’s home turf, and much will be made of the sappy holiday timing. Think Tiffany gift shop, a cellist playing nostalgic melodies, live projections of corporate ephemera and putt-putt mini golf with collectible tree ornaments. Good times, bad times. Dark times to come, golden old times to remember. Come to the island to swim in it all.
