getting close. #TrashTalkingArt starts July 6 online & in person. Will you be there?

18 inches tall, weighing about 2 pounds, this piece has a real nice feel for being made out of plastic. Maybe because it’s reclaimed ocean plastic.

painting this 18-inch tall piece 3D-printed from pure reclaimed ocean plastic as part of my 2-show #Trash TalkingArt exhibiting in Seattle next month

finished installation. This piece will be exhibited in a few weeks as part of my two different “Trash Talking” shows @seattleartfair & @minimartcitypark. Most likely this will just be at the art fair install, as it’d be the only figurative piece. Fits well with the #TrashTalkingArt work though, being made from reclaimed ocean plastic. Still figuring it all out. Never done two simultaneous shows before. Mostly likely this #DalaiLama statue will be accompanied by some of my other figurative works for a totally separate install at the Seattle Art Fair.

what’s this? Oh, just the billboard I’m driving around. This thing turns so many heads and I’m promoting my show everywhere else, I figured why not.
Also - swipe to see the new guts. Still some tuning to reach full driving range but all the EV components are installed @peacevans. I also forgot to mention we’ve been charging this directly from solar power. Just magic. Energy from the sun to the wheels & road.
Plenty of cosmetic work to do, not just to clean up the old engine bay but also to rebuilt live aboard features in the cab. Really incredible to be finally driving this, with 99% of the heavy lifting by the great people @peacevans. Spending the next however many years pecking away at restorations will be easy when driving every mile is smooth & quiet, full of peace and bliss, and routinely conjures great memories. What could be more heavenly?
A quote from Dad - right after I fixed his TV so he could watch TV in bed (and STAY THERE to rest) - from his last voicemail that I’ll never be able to delete:
“Heaven could be like this… with angels all around.”

just another recycling project when it comes down to it. Ok, yes, so this is my dream vehicle. When I was in a dark 2020 hole and blurted out, “you know what I want? I want an electric mini van… you know what I REALLY want? I want an old VW bus that’s electric.” To which the love of my life responds, “Ok.” Finds me the kit, I find the bus, people to help @peacevans … and a massive conduit to remembrance.
My Dad was a lifelong environmentalist, ran a recycle center for 30+ years, and an activist for alternative fuel & energy. It’s hard not to think of him - hard to event describe the feeling while driving this vehicle. Not to mention the lack of fumes, smell and noise. So many peaceful old ghosts coming to visit.
Did you know that, at the dawn of the internal combustion engine, the nascent U.S. auto industry was evenly split 3 ways between gas, electric and steam? Could’ve gone any way 100+ years ago. Look where the ICU engine has gotten us. Sure would’ve been interesting if we all ended up driving around little steam trains.
![Update on a project I posted about a while back. The 1978 VW Bus is now running on 100% EV due to the amazing work of PeaceVans @peacevans in Seattle. Update on a project I posted about a while back. The 1978 VW Bus is now running on 100% EV due to the amazing work of PeaceVans @peacevans in Seattle. Last I posted, I was still doing the project mostly myself but hit a wall when I realized, “I don’t REALLY understand how electricity works.” Which is right around the time when a long dialog came to fruition with PeaceVans taking me on as a test customer. Fast fwd thru many months of installation and troubleshooting, I’ve had it to drive for a few weeks and suddenly I’ve now driven over 900 miles on pure EV. How is this related to “Trash Talking”? Stay tuned

my #TrashTalkingArt show opens on a different date than the ‘opening’ party. The exhibit & online shop open July 6. That’s the first time my new work is available to see and purchase. Come in-person a week later - Saturday July 13 - for the reception party @minimartcitypark in Seattle.

really taken by the thought that such a large amount of guns come from the same part of the planet as sweet little cartoon bears for kids.
